Bailey House Museum
Operated by the Maui Historical Society, this missionary house was the home of Edward Bailey in the 1800's. Stroll through the home to see the living quarters, paintings and other personal items. This museum also has a collection of ancient Hawaiian artifacts. Admission $7.00.

Hawai'i Nature Center at Iao Valley
This interactive nature center introduces you to the beauty of Hawai'i's natural history through a variety of hands-on activities. Great for the whole family.

Haleakala National Park - House of the Sun
The world's largest dormant volcano, Haleakala last erupted in 1790. Recognized by the Hawaiian's as a sacred site, this 10,023 foot summit attracts over a million visitors each year. The 2-hour drive to the top is an experience in itself. Free range cattle and Hawaiian Nenes cross the winding road without fear. Due to its height, the weather can change quickly, be prepared with a jacket year-round.

Kanaha Wildlife Sanctuary
For nature lovers and bird watcher's, follow the shoreline trail out to the shade shelter and lookout. Here is the home of the endangered black-neck Hawaiian Stilt. This is also a good place to view coots, other stilts and the Hawaiian Koloa Duck.

Kealia Pond National Wildlife Preserve
Another great site for naturalists and bird-watchers to take in views of rare Hawaiian Stilts, the Hawaiian Duck, the Hawaiian Coot and black-crowned herons. This is also the area where the Hawksbill Turtle comes to lay her eggs each year. Take a self-guided tour by walking along the boardwalk.

Kepaniwai Heritage Garden
Situated along the Iao Stream this small park is an ideal picnic spot. Tables for leisurely dining dot the area which contains architectural houses of Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, Filipino and New England styles.
Open Daily. Located half way up the Iao Valley Road in Iao Valley.

Maui Coral Factory
Take a half hour free tour of this fascinating facility. Learn how they harvest pink and black coral from the local waters. Then watch as they transform the beautiful coral into gorgeous jewelry. Perfect trip for the whole family.

Kupanaha - Maui Magic For All Ages

Maui Pineapple Company
Plantation workers provide a unique insight into plantation life, growing and harvesting pineapples and how pineapples affected Maui's history in the 2 1/2 hour tour. Visitors are even encouraged to pick their own pineapple.
Open For Two Tours Daily Monday thru Friday. Tours begin at Kapalua Resort on Kahekili Highway.

Whaler's Village Whaling Museum
This is a "must see" museum. Depicting the "Golden Era of Whaling" this museum will guide you through a typical whaler's life at sea. Video presentation, interpretive displays, photo murals and extensive artifacts lend credence to the hard life these men led. Displays of fine examples of 19th century scrimshaw are worth the visit alone. Free Admission. Gift shop attached.
